Carmel, Indiana is one of the best cities in the nation – and we aren’t just saying that! It has the awards to prove it.

Carmel has an incredible school district, low crime rates, a thriving downtown, and tons of outdoor activities. Not to mention that when you build a home close to downtown, you can even walk to all of the festivals and events.

If you are planning to build a house in Carmel, these are 5 of the events you have to take advantage of.

1. CarmelFest

Every year, the city of Carmel puts on one of the largest Indianapolis Fourth of July celebrations. CarmelFest offers two days of live entertainment, festival food, and fun for the whole family. At 9:45 PM the night of the Fourth, the city sets off an epic firework show to the music simulcast on WHJE 91.3.

After the show is over, you can head back to your new construction home and gather with friends on your custom back patio.

2. Annual Summer Concert Series

If you’re an avid music lover, then you’re in luck. Downtown Carmel hosts countless live music concert series throughout the summer months. Check out one of the Cool Creek Summer Concert Series concerts or head on over to the Annual Summer Concert Series hosted at Clay Terrace.

3. Carmel Farmers Market

The Carmel Farmers Market puts on two major markets. The first one is for the summer months between May through September. The other is in the winter months between October and March.

Both markets are open every Saturday between their set months but their hours differ. The summer Farmer’s Market is between 8 AM and 11:30 AM at 2 Center Green Carmel, Indiana 46032-3809. The Winter Market is between 9 AM and NOON at 510 3rd Avenue SW. Carmel, Indiana 46032.

You can use these fresh ingredients to whip up a family favorite in your newly built, gourmet kitchen.

4. Carmel Christkindlmarkt

Inspired by German tradition, Carmel turns the downtown area into a Christmas market. From November to Christmas day, our downtown becomes a winter wonderland allowing families to enjoy holiday foods, drinks, and various hand-crafted products.

After a day of ice skating, shopping, and laughing around the Glühwein Pyramid, take the family back home to continue the Christmas cheer in your new custom built home.

5. Carmel PorchFest

Porchfest began in New York as a way to bring the community together and give local musical talent some exposure. Carmel, Indiana is proud to carry on this grass-roots tradition in our own downtown.

Every year in September you and your family can enjoy various live music from the front lawns of family homes. Bands and performers of every genre get together to perform from neighborhood porches. Oh, and did we mention it’s free?
